Metal in appliances and other objects?
My mom and I pick up bulk items and “trash” to take to a metal scrap yard. Certain types of metal bring us more cash than others (copper, brass, aluminum, and stainless steel). In what items can I find them? (Fridges, ovens, washers, dryers, old, new???) Our city has one day a month when they provide bulk pick up to allow people to throw out these kinds of large items for trash pick up, and that is when we make our rounds. You’d be surprised at what people set outside on the curb… Tell me what to look for.

First of all, “itsjustme”, that was not what I asked. Secondly, you need to educate yourself…if it’s on the curb for trash pick-up, it’s public property. (See Supreme Court ruling where cops did not need warrant to dig through bins set out on curb…)

most faucets have soft brass (yellow) cores. and evaporator coils from fridges are aluminum.
once stuff is at the curb on pickup day, it’s the municipalities. they now own it, they are responsible for it.
I know people who had taken aluminum cans and had to give themback to the town, no ticket issued.
